Geophysics program underway at Buffalo Property

Micrex announced today that the airborne geophysical survey is underway for its Buffalo Head Diamond Property in north central Alberta.

This property covers ten townships or 932 square kilometers.

With its proximity to known pipes and the results of a government heavy mineral survey the Property offers an excellent exploration potential.

Results from the survey are expected within the next two to three weeks.

The airborne geophysical survey for the Micrex Bighorn Project in northern British Columbia is expected to be underway in the first part of May.

Both surveys will be used to direct on ground exploration projects this summer.

The Buffalo Head Property will have ground based magnetometer work done over targets selected from the airborne survey.

The Bighorn Property will have a detailed sampling program to follow-up on the high gold values discovered in our last exploration program. Exploration will be directed towards structure and targets identified in the airborne survey as well as direct tracking from known high gold locations.

Assay results from various locations on the claims gave the following results:

In 1985 samples from the drift dumps of the existing mine by the B.C. Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources returned values as high as 297 ppm (8.63oz.) gold and 120 ppm (3.52 oz.) silver per ton.

Apex Geoscience took rock grab samples from waste dumps at the entrance to the existing adits that gave assays as high as 121.16 grams (3.9 oz.) of gold per tonne. Silver assayed as high as 56.9 grams (1.83 oz) per tonne.

An area to the north of the historical mine’s “Blacksmith Adit” assayed 82.25 grams (2.39 oz/tonne) gold per tonne.

A previously unexplored area within the main claim assayed 8.45 grams (.27 oz.) gold per tonne.

Exploration will evaluate these areas with the aim of delineating drill targets for this summer.
